About the Class
You’ve taken our Improv 101 class and “caught the bug,” and you spent 6 weeks focusing on creating fun, silly characters with our Improv 102 class. What’s next?
In Improv 103, we want to focus WHO you are to each other, and what the STAKES of the scene are. In other words, the relationship and the objective — two of the most important aspects to any improv scene. In order to establish these things, you’ll need ACTING skills! This class is a great way to get them, to feel more confident onstage, and connect with your scene partners.
About the Instructor
Nathan Hartswick is a performer, educator and co-owner of Vermont Comedy Club.
In addition to operating the business with his partner Natalie Miller, Nathan also teaches improv classes at VCC, having studied extensively with instructors from Upright Citizens Brigade, The Second City and iO. He was a founding member of VCC’s mainstage team, The Unmentionables, with whom he performed for many years. He now plays regularly with the team The Kingdom Kids. He has performed and taught workshops at festivals from Montreal and New York to California, Miami and more.
Awards include “Best VT Standup Comedian” from readers of Seven Days, and Vermont Business Magazine’s 40-under-40 award.
