Where is Vermont Comedy Club located?
We are conveniently located in downtown Burlington at 101 Main Street (in the old Armory building, near the Hilton Garden Inn).
How do I purchase tickets or make a reservation for a specific show?
You can pre-purchase tickets online and we always recommend this. Alternatively, you can call or visit our box office Wed-Sun after 5PM. The box office number is (802) 859-0100.
What are your showtimes?
Our showtimes (after Sept 1, 2016) are:
7:00PM, 9:00PM Wednesdays
6:00PM, 7:00PM, 8:30PM Thursdays
7:00PM, 9:30PM Fridays & Saturdays
7:00PM, 8:15PM Sundays

Are there any age restrictions?
We are an 18+ venue. ID is always required to purchase alcoholic beverages. Patrons younger than 18 may be admitted with their parent or legal guardian. Unless marked as “family-friendly,” shows may include objectionable content.
Can I arrive early and get a drink?
Our beautiful, spacious lounge is open at 5PM Tues-Sun - and you don’t need a ticket to hang out there! Arrive early and order from our full bar, sample our snacky food menu, and socialize with friends as you wait for the house to open. (Our box office also opens at 5PM Tues-Sun if you still need to purchase tickets.)
What time should I arrive for the show?
Unless otherwise indicated, our showroom opens 30 minutes prior to showtime. If you purchase a General Admission ticket, there are no reserved seats – but if you arrive early, you’ll have better ones (and a greater chance of being seated with your party). If you purchase VIP tickets, you'll be guaranteed a seat in the front/center (as long as you arrive in time for the show).
I ordered online. Are you going to mail me tickets?
No. Vermont Comedy Club works with a will-call system, meaning we do not print physical tickets. To gain entry, simply check in at the box office the night of the show with your confirmation (printout or phone) or a valid ID.
I don’t do Internet. Can I buy tickets over the phone or in person?
Yes. Our box office opens/begins selling tickets at 5PM Wed-Sun. You can stop in, or call us at (802) 859-0100.
I’m planning a trip to Burlington. Where should I stay?
There happens to be a pretty nice hotel sitting on top of us; you should stay there! If you use this booking link, you’ll get a special “friends of Vermont Comedy Club” discount on your stay.
Does Vermont Comedy Club accept credit cards?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and debit cards. No personal checks accepted.
What is the refund policy?
Comedy being a subjective thing, all sales at the club are final. There are no refunds or exchanges.
Is there a drink minimum?
No. We are one of the few comedy clubs without such a minimum. We are, however, a locally owned business, so your purchase of food and drink helps us – and makes the experience much more fun for you! Also, be sure to tip your servers. They work hard!
Should I research the comedian before attending a show?
Yes. For our weekend shows, we often include a YouTube clip of our performers on our calendar, as well as some similar acts (“If you like ___, you may like ____”). Comedy is subjective and certain comedians are not for everybody. A quick Google search is a great way to get insight on what to expect.
What is the Showroom like? How does seating work?
The Showroom arrangement is similar to a cabaret theater – chairs surrounding tables, facing the stage. When the house opens (30 minutes prior to showtime), you will be escorted to a table and our friendly servers will take care of you for the duration of the show. If you purchase a General Admission ticket, there are no reserved seats – but if you arrive early, you’ll have better ones (and a greater chance of being seated with your party). If you purchase VIP tickets, you'll be guaranteed a seat in the front/center (as long as you arrive in time for the show). Occasionally you may be seated at the same table with a few strangers – good for you; you’re making new friends!
How long do the shows typically last?
Shows are usually between 70 and 80 minutes, with the occasional show lasting 90 minutes. Rarely will a show last two hours.
Is there a dress code?
Yes. You must wear clothes.
Ha, ha. But is there anything I should NOT wear?
Large quantities of cologne. (It’s a tight space.)
What if I am late arriving? Can I get in? Do I get a refund?
Late arrivals are distracting to the performer and the audience. We ask that you arrive on time. If you arrive more than 30 minutes after the scheduled showtime, you will NOT be admitted and will not be issued a refund.
Is the comedian going to pick on me?
Probably not. Comedy is interactive, so they may want to chat with you a little, but unless you're being disruptive, it's not typical for a comedian to pick on audience members.
Can I talk to my friends during the show? Or the comedian?
We want everyone to have a good time - we encourage you to laugh a lot, and interact with performers when invited to do so. During the show, however, please do NOT chat with friends at your table or shout unsolicited things at the performers. Disruptive patrons WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE and will not receive a refund.
What happens if VCC reschedules a show I have tickets to?
If the venue has to reschedule a show, you will be given the option to transfer your ticket to the new show date, or get a credit for the same amount to a future show at Vermont Comedy Club.
Does Vermont Comedy Club offer group discounts?
We may, depending on the size of our group. Please send inquiries about our event services to email@example.com so we can offer you other ways to save!
Can Vermont Comedy Club be rented out?
Yes. Our upscale lounge and our large showroom can accommodate many different types of private and public events, and can be arranged with food & beverage packages. Simply contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is the club ADA accessible?
Yes. Our Box Office entrance on Pine Street is accessible, as well as all bathrooms (and even our stage).
Where can I park near the club?
We are located at 101 Main Street. There is metered parking on Main Street: uphill from from Pine Street accepts credit cards (and the Parkmobile app) and is free after 10pm and on Sundays. Downhill from Pine Street requires coins and is free after 6pm and on Sundays. There is a parking garage one block away where the first 2 hours are free (and all day Sundays); the entrance is on the corner of College Street & S. Champlain Street.
Does Vermont Comedy Club have an “Open Mic” night?
Vermont Comedy Club has two standup open mic nights per week. The one on Wednesdays starts at 7:00PM and sign-ups are at 6:30PM. They must be done in person at the box office. The mic on Sundays starts at 8:15PM with signups at 8:00PM, and the order is drawn at random by the host. Due to time restraints and the number of comedians signing up each week, we cannot guarantee stage time. This info is all subject to change, so be sure to check our calendar for details. I like improv comedy. Is there an "Open Mic" for that?
Yes! We have a weekly "short form" improv jam on Thursdays at 6:00PM, and a "scene work" improv jam on Sundays at 5:00PM. Signups happen at the Box Office prior to the jams. (New to improv? We offer classes! Click here for info.)
Can I take photos/video inside the club?
Patrons may take photographs BEFORE or AFTER the show. Taking photographs or recording audio or video during the show must be done with PERMISSION FROM THE ARTIST. (For example, if your comedian friend asks you to film his/her open mic set, that is permitted.) Recording an artist WITHOUT his/her permission is strictly prohibited. Patrons who abuse this policy will have all content erased and be ejected immediately.
